Elementary: Biggest declines

Jamestown’s Catholic Academy of the Holy Family suffered the only triple-digit decline of any elementary school this year. It fell from 69th place in 2009 to 170th in 2010, a drop of 101 positions.
Six other schools fell at least 50 places this year, with Clarence’s Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (down 61) and Evans-Brant’s Highland Elementary School (down 60) suffering the largest year-to-year declines.
The following are the 10 biggest drops by elementary schools from 2009 to 2010:
• 1. Catholic Academy of the Holy Family (Jamestown), down 101 places
• 2. Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary School (Clarence), down 61 places
• 3. Highland ES (Evans-Brant), down 60 places
• 4. Heritage Heights ES (Sweet Home), down 53 places
• 5. St. Matthew Lutheran School (North Tonawanda), down 52 places
• 5. West Valley Central School (West Valley), down 52 places
• 7. St. Joseph School (Gowanda), down 50 places
• 8. St. Joseph School (Batavia), down 49 places
• 9. Notre Dame Academy (Buffalo), down 48 places
• 10. Wyoming Central School (Wyoming), down 47 places
