Written on June 16, 2010

The University of Texas won’t join the Pac-10 athletic conference.

The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that conference commissioner Larry Scott confirmed that the Austin school won’t make the move from the Big 12. Scott is expected to issue a statement on the matter late Monday.

The University of Oklahoma has also decided to remain in the conference, according to the Associated Press.

A Texas A&M official also confirmed that his school will stay in the Big 12, according to the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News.

The Texas schools are expected to remain a part of what would become a 10-team conference bad credit payday advance.

The University of Colorado left to join the Pac-10 last week. The conference had wooed Texas, Texas A&M, the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.

Oregon State University and the University of Oregon are charter members of the conference, helping launch the Pacific Coast Conference in 1915.

The Pac-10 is based in Walnut Creek, Calif.
